Solid Surface Fabrication > Care guide

Acrylic solid surface should be maintained by cleaning with a general household cleaner such as 'Spray and wipe' or soapy water.  To bring the surface back to it's true beauty, wipe with a dry clean cloth after cleaning.

To remove more stubborn stains that build up on the surface, use a mild abrasion cleaner like 'Jif'  cream cleanser or 'Ajax. For all other marks use a green '3M Scotch-brite' pad.

For small scratches and marks, the surface can be repaired using different grades of abrasive paper. You should always start with the mildest of abrasives.

The first should be a green '3M Scotch-brite pad' working with a soft circular motion to remove the mark. This gives matt finish that is equivalent to 400 grit sandpaper.

For all marks that need further work, it is suggested that you call to arrange refurbishment of your surface.

180 grit sandpaper can be used with a flat even block, gently working in a circular motion until the mark is sufficiently removed. From there, use in order 240, 320 then 400 to restore the surface to it's original state. The best finish is achieved by using an orbital sander with a sanding stroke of 3mm.

Harsh industrial chemicals such as strong acids, ketones and solvenated chlorine can damage the surface and will then need refurbishment.
